Speech Pathologists


Mrs. Johansen's Schedule:
All day Mondays and Wednesdays and from 12:30-4:15 on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and occasional Fridays.

Mrs. Johannes Schedule:
Tuesdays and Thursdays in the morning.

What are Speech/ Language Impairments?
A Speech impairment refers to a child’s ability to produce specific sounds that are appropriate for his/her age level. A Language impairment refers to incomplete mastery of communication skills in the areas of receptive and expressive language.

Speech Impairments may include:
•Articulation- or the way speech sounds are produced
•Voice- the rate, pitch and loudness of speech
•Fluency- the flow or rhythm of speech

Language Impairments may include difficulties in the areas of Expressive Language or Receptive Language. Expressive Language is the ability to organize and express thought verbally and in writing. Receptive Language is the ability to understand and process information that is heard and read.
