Starting Your Own Business

Annual Brownie Sale

Mrs. Morgan’s third graders had another successful brownie sale at Abbott.   First, Mrs. Koenig, from the Omaha State Bank, our PAYBAC partner, visited our class.  She told us about how a bank helps people start a business.  Mrs. Morgan taught us about capital, profit, interest, and the importance of good advertising.  Next, we had a class meeting to assign tasks and set a date to make and sell the brownies.

After repaying our loan for the brownie mixes, eggs, etc. with 3% interest to the parents, we gave $50.00 of our profit to The Open Door Mission. Thank you parents for sending in all of the supplies.  A special thanks to Mrs. Smith and Mrs. Reynolds for helping us wrap the brownies.
