Service Learning is a new and exciting opportunity given to many students in schools today. Not only does it allow students to focus on helping others through community service activities, it also links community service to the classroom. Through involvement of students, enhancing the community, classroom implementation, and life-long experiences, we see how the impact service-learning projects have on students. It takes a lot of planning from teachers and community members, but allows students to experience a chance to change someone else’s life, and even their own.

Here at Beadle, we have implemented Service Learning into our classrooms this year. Through a grant from Millard Public Schools, we have been able to enhance the learning of all students at Beadle in one way or another. All students will be working toward a link to the community and finding ways in which they can help others. We look forward to updating you on how the students of Beadle have joined this collaboration and what progress they have made.
