Text Box: From Mrs. Nelson — What a fabulous first Fall Festival we had on the afternoon of the 19th! Mrs. Bolmeier has posted pictures of the festivities on our web page. We had two hours of fun activities. Each class rotated through several “stations”: outside to see the tractor and get a free treat from the ice cream man; to the Media Center for the story teller; in their classroom for an art activity; and to the gym for the “carnival.” A tremendous amount of planning went into this. Thanks to Shawna King for coordinating everything. She is a wonder! Shawna’s next adventure is putting together the Patriotic Pancake Feed, which is next Friday evening from 5-7 PM. This annual event just keeps getting better. Along with fun from the Pancake Man, we will have karaoke with Mr. Infante, clowns and face painting, and something to do in line in support of the troops. It promises to be another fun night! Of course, my favorite activity of the year is coming up on the 9th as well. We will have our fifth Veterans’ Day assembly starting at 2:30 in the gym. As is tradition, we will recognize all veterans in attendance, and we will have a good time singing patriotic songs. All are welcome to attend! Student Council is sending home a paper decoration for you to write the names of the veterans in your family, and then color and cut out. We will decorate the walls with these precious reminders. Were you able to come view the Halloween parade? The children did a wonderful job. They were led by Brody, Mrs. Torres’ Domesti-Pups dog. Even he got into the “spirit” and dressed up as a horse (it wasn’t too much of a stretch for him)! — NN
