REMINDERS

 

· The Spring Music Concert time has been changed to 6:00 on the       evening of April 24th.

· The first grade      Language Arts and Reading ELO assessment will be given April 15th and 16th.

 

 

 

 

 

 

From Mrs. Nelson —  Here we are getting ready for Spring Break!  While I’m sure some are looking ahead to summer, we are definitely not through with 2007-2008 yet.  During the week of April 14th, we will be administering the first grade Language Arts/Reading assessment, the second grade Math       assessment, and the fourth grade Reading and fifth grade Listening assessments.  On Friday the 18th, we will have our annual Art Show, which is always a very classy affair.  Every student has a piece of art on display that they created during our Amazing Artist program under the tutelage of Sherry Reese.  Thanks to PTA for continuing to fund this opportunity for Cottonwood students. 

             On April 22nd we will have our 2008-2009 Kindergarten Parent Night.  Shortly after that, we will showcase our Cottonwood musicians in the Spring Music Program on the 24th.  There has been a time change that evening.  We will begin at 6:00 to give our Kiewit parents time to attend both programs.  It is amazing to hear the band, orchestra and chorus perform in the spring.  What    progress they make in such a short amount of time! 

             Also on April 22nd, our Site Planning Team will reconvene to approve the work of the Action Teams formed after our day of planning last November.  I have taken a peek at the plans the teams developed, and I am anxious for the group to discuss them.  We will certainly keep you posted on the final products! 

              Of course May brings us opportunities to get together for some fun.   Volunteer Appreciation Night is May 12th, and this year we will be treated to Mama’s Pizza.  Friday of that week we will have our Family Fun Night!  So rest up Cougar families.  There is definitely more to come!
