School Improvement Team Minutes - 9/23/08

In Attendance:  Sue Johannes, Sheila Bolmeier, Kathy Torres, Anne Pane-Ridgway, Nancy Nelson

Welcome and events update:

Review of membership – Mrs. Nelson had heard from several parents that were unable to attend the meeting.  Some have gone back to work and feel unable to continue. Names of parents that may be interested were brainstormed. Mrs. Nelson will contact them to see if we can increase our parent participation.  The team feels confidant that some additional staff members will step up to participate too.

CCM Funds and programs:

CCM I (Career Compensation Model) The team concurs that our staff felt successful with the plan we used last year, and all agreed that we will continue to implement these strategies again this year.

CCM II are dollars to be distributed for tasks that that are extra but not compensated by extra duty pay.  The committee is in agreement on paying our Lunch Helper Sponsor, our CCM Coordinator, and our Government Club Sponsor.

Meeting Dates: Calendars were checked and dates for future meetings were set:

October 28th

November 25

January 27th

Fall Festival

We had discussion about how to best assist PTA in planning our Fall Festival celebration.  It was suggested that the staff develop a master schedule with timing for rotations for all students. Perhaps then the PTA could focus on group activities as well as a few individual classroom activities.

Site Plan:

We briefly reviewed the notes from last spring and know which Specific Results we want to begin to focus on during this school year.  We agreed to hold specific discussion until the next meeting when we will hopefully have new members to share ideas.
