Reading was in full swing at Harvey Oaks during the week of February 23rd. The theme was "HIT THE BOOKS!" and we had many great events. On Monday night, "Snuggle Up With a Good Book" brought over over 360 parents, students and siblings to school for hot chocolate and cookies. Families found cozy corners in the school to read with each other. It was a wonderful night!

Wednesday was "Read In Day" at the school. This signature day included many community leaders and personalities reading to the classrooms. This year Mayor Fahey, the Godfather, and First Lady Sally Ganem were among many others who visited our school. The main goal of the event is to help instill the love of reading in all of the students and their families. It was a great success. The second goal of the READ-A-THON was to collectively read over 6000 hours as a school. Not only did they reach that goal, but they surpassed it by 500 hours!
We hope our students are in the habit of reading!
