Omaha Public Library The public library system is under utilized by young families in the metropolitan area. There is a specific area dedicated to young readers as well as a number of story times for children as young as 2 years old. There are books for children of every age as well as many materials addressing a full range of parenting issues. If you live in Douglas County, you may visit any library branch and use your library card for free. If you live outside the county, there is a small annual fee for a card.
