A. P. American History - Mr. Diehl; Ms. Hacker
Course probes the American heritage from early exploration to present in a chronological manner. Course utilizes lectures, discussion, research, and writing.
Prerequisite: None
A. P. Calculus - AB - BC - Mr. Neemann; Mr. Higgins
A comprehensive study of the concepts taught in most college Calculus courses. Students will explore topics in a traditional fashion and with the assistance of technology.
Precalculus with a grade of 3 or better.
A. P. Computer Science AB - Mr. Biga
A computer-programming course for students interested in a career in programming or information technology.
Prerequiste: Competion of contemporary programming languages
A. P. English Language - Ms. Welsh; Ms. Sauser, Mr. Collins
Replicates a typical first year college course in composition and literature. Emphasis is on analytical reading and writing.
Prerequisite: Senior standing - Must have completed 6 semesters of core English classes.
A.P. English Literature - Ms. Bayne; Ms. Welsh
Replicates a typical first year college course in composition and literature. Emphasis is on analytical reading and writing.
Prerequisite: Senior standing - Must have completed 6 semesters of core English classes.
A. P. Physics - Mr. Mertz; Mr. Wilson
Covers all the traditional topics in physics with emphasis on thermodynamics, electricity, magnetism, light, optics, relativity, quantum and atomic physics.
Prerequisite: Physics and successful completion of or concurrent enrollment in precalculus.
Prerequisite for all AP language classes is completion of Level 4 of the language.
Opportunity For College Credit
Advanced Placement courses allow students to earn college credit while still in high school. A student can take the National Advanced Placement exam in May or earn credits by dual enrolling through Peru State College. Peru State offers dual enrollment credits for the following:
A. P. Calculus; A. P. English; A. P. American History; A. P. Psychology;
A. P. Macroeconomics
Students may also earn dual credit from UNO for these courses:
A.P. European History; A.P. BC Calculus; A.P. English; A.P. Psychology; A.P. American History
