ACT - SAT - PSAT - PLAN


ACT

How to get started:

1. Create your student web account

  • Register for the ACT 24/7
  • Make changes to your registration
  • View your scores at no charge
  • Send scores to additional colleges
  • Complete or update your Student Profile to colleges can target their information to you

2. Register for the ACT

  • Choose your test date, test option, and test center
  • Know immediately whetehr youor preferred tehst center has space for you to test
  • Decide where to report your scores
  • Receive e-mail updates, including when your score report is ready

Note: if you need to request test accommodations or extended time for the first time, you must register by mail and include a completed request or application with your completed registration folder. if you need to register by mail, get a registration packet from your counselor.

ACT Fees and Services
2008 - 2009

You must use a valid credit card to register online. Register by mail to pay by check or money order. Fees are non-refundable unless noted.

Basic Fee Per Test Option:
(Includes the first four college codes listed when you register.)

ACT (No Writing) ........................$31.00
ACT Plus Writing.........................$46.00

(The $15.00 Writing Test fee is refundable on written request, if you are absent on test day or you change your test option before testing begins.

Additional Services

5th and 6th college codes ...............Basic Fee +$9.00 each
(added by 12:00 noon on Thursday immediately follosing the regularly scheduled Saturday test date)
This is refundable upon request if you are absent on test day.

Late Registration..............................Basic Fee + 20.00

Score reports are normally mailed within 3-8 weekes after the test daye. If you take the ACT Plus Writing, your report will be mailed with all your scores, including Writing, are abailable, normally withinh 5-8 weeks after the test date.

SAT

The SAT is the college admission test required by many schools on the east and west coasts. While Millard North is not a test site for the SAT, students may pick up SAT registration forms in the Counseling Center. The SAT is administered at several area schools. The SAT I: Reasoning Test is a three-hour test, primarily multiple choice , that measures verbal and mathematical reasoning abilities. The SAT II: Subject Tests are one-hour, primarily multiple choice tests in specific subjects. Starting times for the SAT (usually 8 A.M.), and testing location, will be printed on your admission ticket, which you will receive in the mail.

PSAT

The PSAT/NMSQT is given each October to college bound juniors at Millard North High. The PSAT is the first step in the National Merit Scholarship competition. This year's dates for the PSAT is . It is highly recommended for students who rank in the top quarter of the class. Students may sign up in the Counseling Center.


PLAN

The PLAN, a preliminary test for the ACT, will given to college-bound sophomores. This year's date for the plan test is . You may register for the PLAN in the counseling office. Students should bring 2 pencils and a calculator for the test.
