I enjoyed the book in that I love ballet and all things political. There were two lines - however - that would cause me to hesitate handing this book to a 10 year-old. In one line. Vera referws to "sexy French thongs," and in another Tatiana discusses "squeezing herself into a smaller bra. Otherwise, it was well-done! - MNHS |

Storm Thief |
|
The citizens of Orokos, a crumbling city surrounded by an endless ocean, live at the mercy of probability storms that "might steal a baby's eyes and replace them with buttons, or turn a house into sugar paper." Together with the chaotic conditions, the city's totalitarian government makes life miserable for marginalized "ghetto-folk" like teen thieves |

It was a fabulous as Poison and The Haunting of Alaizabel Cray. It begins in the slums with two thieves, Rail and Moa. Rail was hit by a probability storm which can change a person into a duck or make your eyelashes red. But for Rail, he can't breathe without a respirator. Moa, who has always been left-handed is now a righty. They are nobodies and are never going to climb up the social ladder. They steal some faded object and now everybody wants them. On their journey they run into a gollum named Vago who ends up saving Moa's and Bail's life. But good turns to bad when he betrays them and nearly gets them both killed. Moa gets through to him by saying I want to live - and he ends up saving Moa and Rail one last time. The world changes and the book ends with Vago still floating on the ocean. - MNHS |
1 |
I liked about half of this book. I liked how Rail took care of Moa and how they trusted each other. I also liked the intrigue of them being thieves and of the environment changing all the time. I didn't like the Remnants or the Taken at all and throught they were creepy. It would have been a better book if they didn't exist and were replaced with something else, but certainly parts of the book were good. - MNHS |
2 |
It was good. - MNHS |
2 |
I loved this book! Vago was such a surprise. The world that Rail and Moa live in is like our own. WE don't have storms that change our world like theirs, but their struggles are a lot like the struggles of our world. - MNHS |

The story was about how Cat finds an egg in Marianne's cellar. Soon the egg hatches and Cat has to take care of a Griffin. Also Marianne's family (the Pinholes) are in war with the Farleys. Soon the war goes out of control and Mariane's brother Joe and Cat's brother Roger stop the war. The Cat also freed the "Hiddey Folks" which all of the Pinhole hated. This was another good green dot book again. - CMS |
2 |
The use of magic combined with civalry and things makes for an interesting story. The slight humorism with the Griffin and Nutcase keeps you reading more. The uniqueness and realism entertains you and keeps you reading - helped along with the magic (both mythical and one woven by books to ensnare readers). - CMS |
