A FEW ROUTINE PROCEDURES AND HELPFUL HINTS FOR A SUCCESSFUL SCHOOL DAY

A bell rings each day at 7:53 a.m. (8:38 a.m. on Mondays) signaling all students to proceed to their 1 st period classes. First period begins promptly at the 8:00 a.m. bell (8:45 a.m. on Mondays). All students must be in their first period classes when the 8:00 a.m. bell rings – no exceptions. Those students who arrive at their classrooms after the bell are considered tardy-to-school and must check in at the 9-12 Office for an Admit Slip.

Dismissal is at 3:15 p.m. each day. Students are expected to leave immediately and be out of the building and off school grounds by 4:00 p.m. unless involved with a school related activity or under the direct supervision of a staff member. All students must be picked-up after school by 4:00 p.m. Please arrange a section of the parking lot to pick up your student each day between 3:15 and 4:00 p.m.

When dropping off students for school, please use any of the parking lot drives. If coming from the South on 144 th Street and you attempt to enter the campus at the front marquee entrance, you can experience a significant delay due to traffic. It is suggested you proceed and use the turning light at the North entrance instead. Follow the one-way signs on the front drives as marked. PLEASE DO NOT PARK IN A RED FIRE LANE AT ANY TIME.

When leaving the south parking lot at dismissal, please do not make a left turn onto Pacific Street. This causes significant delay in the traffic flow. As often as possible when available, the SRO (school resource office) directs traffic at this location on a daily basis.

The south parking lot is not to be used as a drop-off point for students. This is a staff parking lot that has no exit for parent dropping off students. Parents dropping off students in this parking lot create serious safety concerns for staff members and other students accessing the building in the mornings.
