Beginnning with the 2008-2009 school year, all students in 4th and 5th grades will have the option to choose which Golden Sower Club they would like to participate in.
Golden Sower Readers Club
To become members of
this club, students must read at least four of the ten current
Golden Sower Nominees for grades 4 to 6. After reading a book,
students must write a review of the book, using a form obtained
from the Information Center.
Students who complete at least four review forms by the second week in April will receive
a certificate and be included in a special celebration at
the end of the school year.
Golden Sower Quiz Bowl Club
The Quiz Bowl Club meets once a week, usually beginning in January, before or after school for 30 to 45 minutes, so permission slips and transportation arrangements are required. Students read each of the 10 nominees on their own time and participate in book discussions during club meetings.
Students who attend metings regularly, participate in the discussions, and demonstrate a solid understanding of the books will be invited to represent Neihardt at the Golden Sower Quiz Bowl sometime in April.
Students who participate in this club will receive a certificate and be included in a special celebration at the end of the school year.
